Bee Tag Sewing Cards

Several weeks ago, I made these cute little sewing cards from the Bee Tag in hopes to finish them with my little granddaughter, Maggie. Between working, snowstorms and slippery roads, colds and runny noses and more snowstorms....needless to say, they are not completed by her. (I'm SAD GRAMMA.) I did start them both so you can get the idea of how they will look (and then I will take them apart so Maggie and I can do them together).
Typically, sewing cards are done with a heavy plastic needle and yarn. As you can see, this card was done just like that...very simple for a 3 year old's little fingers to do... with help. Tie a bow and we are done.

The second plan is to have her actually weave a skinny paper strip in and out of the holes, giving another nice look.  Maggie is such a sweet little girl that she loves doing any crafts with me, so I made two simple cards, without much detail, so not to scare her. She's actually afraid of my Silhouette...she says its too LOUD...it's the paper monster and it EATS paper!!  Ha Ha! But still she enjoys sitting on my lap as we cut out paper dolls, cute boxes, and coloring pages...she loves it all and she is my FAVORITE crafting partner!! Thanks for stopping by again.  I have several more things to post...See you next time!  Hey don't forgot to run over to My Scrap Chick, for some wonderful new kits!

Sweet Nugget Matchboxes

Hi Folks...
Back again with another sweet design from My Scrap Chick.  It's called the Sweet Nugget Matchbox.   I like this box because it's so versatile; I used it as a Halloween goodie box, and a jewelry box over the holidays as well. The lid wraps around the box and for this Valentines Day, I will insert the little dividers to perfectly separate candies from each other and add a clear window sheet.

Using double-sided cardstock gives you several choices to design a very unique piece. On this box, I also used the Banners file. Three choices for different banners. The letters were a simple font that pulled the entire piece together, nicely. I also like to add ribbons, bows and a little glitter...just enough bling for me! So friends, thanks for stopping by again and be sure to check out My Scrap Chick to see what's new, oh, and don't forget about Freebie Friday!!
Check back on Thursday, when I will be sharing my sewing cards I will be making with my little Grandbaby, Maggie.

Loving Lady Bug

Hi everyone...

Wow, this has to be a record for me...I think this is my third piece I have showcased since last week.  I have actually made several of these My Scrap Chick Pavers....like the Snowman, Reindeer, Santa and Gingerbread Man...but this is my first little BUG, from Garden Bugs and I totally loved it!!  I did make a change to the file.  She had little dots on her back, but I made them into hearts instead.
I wish I would have used a polka dotted paper for the liner on the inside of the box...maybe next time. I have several little Valentines I am going to give to my little Granddaughter....and this will be one of them.  Later this week, I will be sharing a cute sewing card I made for her and I to do together so be sure to stop by again.
My Scrap Chick  has some "stinkin cute" new files this week.  Check out the adorable little Skunk and Monkey Belly Boxes, you're going to LOVE them!! My Scrap Chick Team shares some really fun pieces on their FB page.  Come on by and check them out.

Thanks for stopping...

Heart Top Treat Box

Hi everyone!!!  So happy to be sharing yet another darling file from My Scrap Chick.  This cute little box is from the Heart Top Treat Box Collection.  I made the Tall Box version and plan on filling it with Hersheys Hugs and Kisses for a friend.  The box came with some adorable tags, but I like to mix two files and make something different, so I added some HOT LIPS to the tag instead.  "SMOOCH"!!

After searching for vintage paper, I found this cute print from Fancy Pants Designs, called the Sentiments Collection and from Bo Bunny, the Head over Heals Collection. I love the look and they seem to really work perfectly together; giving it the vintage feel I was searching for.  The cardstock is double sided, so it gave me a few choices of patterns.  I LOVE the stripes, aren't they adorable...they really tie this project together!!  It took me all of 15 minutes to make this little package!  I even used twine to tie it all together. Adorable!!
Next week I am scheduled for two more projects ....a sweet candy box and a Lucky in Love Lady Bug which I am going to fill with something special for my 'apples of my eyes', my grandbabies!!

Until next week...
Thanks for stopping by!

I Love You this MUCH!

Hi everyone, can you believe Valentines Day is right around the corner? Seems like Christmas was just last week!!  Spring will be here before you know it, I for one can't wait.  It's been a tough Winter for us. A couple weeks ago, it was -45!!!  Yikes!!  What could be worse you ask?  Our furnace went out!!  OMG, it was sooo cold in the house for 24 hours (30 degrees when we woke up.)  We didn't want to go to a hotel, because of our little dog.  We stayed in the house and wore coats for 24 hours.  My heart goes out to those who have to endure this on a regular basis. We are blessed to had been able to purchase a new furnace and have it installed right away.
So, what do you think of this adorable Dinosaur? This is a brand new file from My Scrap Chick called Dinosaur Belly Box.  I added the Banner file as well. I have done another project very similar to this last year, caller Favor Tails. Speaking of that, I will doing more of those very soon...keep a watchful eye...they are really cute.
I have another file coming out on Thursday this week too, I know you will love....see you again soon. Lots of fun new files over at My Scrap Chick, check them out.
Enjoy your week.  Happy Crafting!!

More Christmas Centerpieces

Hi Everyone, Thanks for stopping by to see the other centerpieces.  My event went well but not too many good pictures...boo!  I do have to tell you what happen.  So my daughter was able to help me set up since I have a shoulder injury...torn rotary cuff.  I am ok to pick up some things, but not able to stretch or put up the canopies on my Tabletop Shop. She was a huge help in setting up the table but because the car was so packed I failed to take a few things that I really needed....hence the poor pictures of the event.
Anyway, while we were in full swing, I hurried over to clear a table and TRIPPED on a coat that was hanging off of a chair and fell SPLAT on the cement tile floor!!! OMG...I was so embarrased...the Dickens Carolers went silent, everyone stopped in their tracks...even Santa jumped off his chair and ran to my side.  A nice gentleman quickly grabbed me by the shoulder and was ready to pull me up, when someone yelled...NO don't move her!!! I was SOOOOO embarrassed.  But every bone in my body was SCREAMING!  I thought for sure I broke my wrist.  I quickly picked myself up and wanted to run away, but the show must go on.  I stayed, finished the event, cleaned up, then went to the ER.  Nothing was broke, thank God, but I feel like I was hit by a bus!  I am so, so sore. Every bone in my body hurts. Ugggh.  I will never forget this holiday party that's for sure!  I heard someone say...WOW, she hit the floor like a sack of potatoes!!  LOL...thanks!
Ok, enough of that, lets move on to the centerpieces. The Candy Cane and the sleigh are both from My Scrap Chick. So easy to make.  Each of the centerpieces use at least 3 files. Each had a box as the base and then I used two other files for the main design.
All in all, I made 6 centerpieces, with the same color scheme.  Added bows and accents as well to make each whimsical centerpiece shine and twinkle in Christmas lights.

My Scrap Chick has some wonderful files.  Very quick and easy to put together.  Not to mention, their cuteness is beyond words!

Both the Santa Pants and the Elf Shoes came from SVGcuts.  These are a bit more detailed, but really fun files as well.
Friends, thanks for stopping by again.  Have a wonderful holiday.  I will be in touch later next week with something new.
