Rainbow 1st Birthday Party

A few weeks ago Desi, from Desiree Chocolates gave me a call to ask if I would be available to build party pieces for a 1st Birthday Party.  In 2012, I designed Jada's Jungle, a Baby Naming Party for a friend of Desi's. So it was a surprised to hear Jada was already turning one!  Gosh, babies grow so fast don't they?  Of course I was thrilled she asked me to do another party for her.
You guessed it, it was a Rainbow theme!  I was asked to come up with a large piece to be placed on the main table that had some height, menu cards for the sweet table, a couple of banners and cupcake picks.  You know me, I can't do simple..I have to GO BIG everytime!!

I started out with the rainbow from the My Scrap Chick  Lucky Rainbow Bears and a sun from Shape Card Vol. 1  I added some simple font and used my foam dots to give it some dimension in my layering. I used ink to edge the clouds and the sun, and made all pieces double sided.

The pot of gold file came from  SVG Cuts as a Halloween piece, but I changed the color and made it a gorgeous pot of gold complete with a little BLING!!

Adding the rainbow to the pot of gold made the perfect centerpiece. Like I said, I double-sided this to give it a full look from any angle.

Next I did two banners.

Don't worry, I caught that the T was placed backwards before I glued it down.  LOL!

Desi, always likes me to make cupcake picks that can be used in almost anything she whips up.  I like to personalize these pieces as well.
The Menu Cards are actually one of my favorite pieces to build.  They really tie everything together on the table. I like to make them very detailed. Look up my other parties to see the crazy menu cards I have designed.

Have I mentioned how YUMMY Desi's  Sweet Tables are???? Look at all those delectable desserts!
Here are a few pictures of the actual party.

Thanks for stopping by...if you haven't noticed I am "playing catch up"....I am a bit backlogged in my blogging this month so comeback in a day or two...better yet, become a follower and see whats next.  I did an event for 800 guests, I am finishing up some menu cards with a Chicago Theme, and I have done a few more things for My Scrap Chick. The Garden Party

Last Summer I did a Garden Party, for one year old twin girls.  I had so much fun building this party but never blogged it...now a year later it's time.  The twins were born premature and the day before their 1st Birthday Party, little Grace became a little angel. Honestly, it was the saddest day ever!  I can't tell you how much this little one touched my life.   I never met her, but think of her all the time. Amazing Grace!!
I made 7 centerpieces of flowers and garden findings. Each Pretty Poke was mounted on a stripped pixie straw and inserted into a mason jar filled with gumballs. I love to add details like white "stitching" marks around the image and a bit of BLING to each.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Ava and Grace!

Puppy Party

I recently a had a call from a young mom to make 1st birthday centerpieces for her daughters' 1st birthday "puppy themed" party.  She sent me a party napkin so I could match the theme colors and a photo of her dogs which she somehow wanted to be built into each centerpiece. We agreed that my Pretty Pokes Stems would make the perfect centerpiece and would keep the cost down as well. One of her dogs were black and other white, which was pretty simple for me, so I visited a favorite shop to purchase two cute puppy SVG files. She also asked that I fill mason jars with gumballs, since the party was outside and she wanted it to be heavy and not blow off the table.  Normally, I just punched the lids of the mason jar, but this time I went ahead and purchased the whole mason jar and gumballs to make it a little easier on this young mom...I remember the days of running to the stores with a 1 year old...sheesh!!  I also delivered this to her home to make it a bit easier on her all around.

This time I bought those COOL vintage blue mason jars.  Ohhhhh so pretty!!  Have you checked Pinterest to see how else they are using these light blue jars....cool stuff!
So, here we go...I started to cut, and cut.....AND CUT!!  I sorted all my pieces and edged each piece with ink.

OMG, the pieces!!  I only made 8 centerpieces with 4 Pretty Poke Stems in each.  It really wasn't as bad as it sounds, grouping your pieces together before assembling really helps.  I love building these little guys and the PRIZE at the end is so rewarding to me.  Honestly, I can only do 1 job per week so I just focus and move forward.  My favorites are actually building favors...I could do that all day long.

I also added an intial and a number 1 to each centerpiece. Very simple, but I love the way they came out.

Down on the Farm

Yee Haw!
Just a little something from the farm.  I made two different styles of  cow favor boxes...perfect for baby shower or 1st Birthday, actually a toddler birthday would be fun or maybe even something at the office...from the HERD!!  lol
I have several favorite SVG companies, but both of these came from My Scrap Chick.  I love their patterns; they are so darn cute and so much fun for any party!

Add a little BELL to the ribbon for perfect necktie.  I love these little guys. The perfect size for a stack of sandwich cookies.  Or maybe some cow pies (chocolate chips)

Ok, now these little guys... I just couldn't pass up.  I have all of My Scrap Chicks Trio Patterns, but these fit right into the "Farm" Theme.    I would fill and place these at each place setting ...How about MILK DUDS or Bulls Eyes?  Or even some homemade cow pies....ooops, I mean chocolate chip cookies!

Ok friends,
Thanks for stopping by!

Monkey's 1st Birthday

Back in the Spring, I made centerpieces for a 1st Birthday Party for a cute little munchkin.  Her mom planned to have her party at a local zoo, the theme was little girl monkeys with flowers on their ears. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to make these centerpieces. The colors were hot pinks, blues, yellows...a little green, and orange, and of course BROWN for the monkeys.  I chose my favorite paper, Bo Bunny, Double Dot scrapbook papers and an SVG from My Scrap Chick to create these wonderful pieces.
I filled a clear cup with gumballs and covered it with a clear dome style lid. Paper shred  was added so the single straw would stand upright, firmly.
I made a bright color popcorn cup and dropped the clear cup inside.  I added a number ONE to each side of the cup. I love the way they came out...perfect!
On the outside of each straw I glued on the tree trunk, but not before I inked the edges, giving it a bit of dimension.  The palms were strategically placed on top of the trunk, so the monkeys could be hung and wrapped around them.  Their skinny arms, lanky legs and twirly tails give them plenty of room to play in the palms. All critters were double-sided...so guests on both sides of the table can see the entire centerpiece.  I do like to add some BLING to each piece...my trademark I guess.
Thanks again Abby for the opportunity to help with your party!
